Driven by the urge to tell important, empowering stories, Brent Kawchuk has a diverse and celebrated body of work that, first and foremost, honours the subject or brand behind the vision. An industry veteran, Brent has produced hundreds of commercial film productions across Canada for world-renowned brands like McDonald’s, Ford, Chevrolet, Subway, Tim Hortons, Western Canada Lotteries, Fountain Tires, and Sport Chek, to name a few.

Brent’s passion for human understanding and knowledge has led him to produce eight Canadian Heritage Minutes – more than any other producer Canada. In his decades of work in television and documentary filmmaking, Brent has been distinguished with awards from the Alberta Media Production Industries Association (AMPIA), the Banff International Television Festival, a Canadian Screen Award, the National Screen Institute, and a Gemini nomination for the documentary The Cult of Walt: Canada’s Polka King.

He now serves as Co-Chair of AMPIA. Brent’s devotion to finding truth in even the smallest of details in all the stories and images he produces assures that his work resonates in a deeply personal way with audiences. Whether telling the story of a radical, barrier breaking female baseball player, or unsung heroes of the First World War, Kawchuk presents each subject at their most impactful and dignified.
