Biography

Jeremy Drummond has woven his knowledge and creativity through every facet of filmmaking during his prolific career, from producing and directing nationally-broadcast, big-budget campaigns, to directing feature films. As a former actor, Jeremy has that rare instinct of equally understanding and connecting with those both in-front and behind the camera, creating an environment that imbues confidence for everyone on set.

This comprehensive dexterity has led to Jeremy leading major advertisement campaigns for BHP Billiton, Federated Co-operatives Limited, and Country Thunder.

Throughout all of his work, as both director and producer, Jeremy is constantly pushing for innovation and freshness, finding ways to present a subject in a way that hasn’t been seen before. Through his remarkable eye for storytelling, his polished style, and the technical precision in which he leads a production, Jeremy invariably finds ways to create unforgettable content that his pulsating with life, and has value that soars high above the sum of its parts.

Federated Co-operatives Limited – Fresh Facilities

Both cinematic and humorous, as well as a little gross, this is one of the most enjoyable productions we’ve proudly produced with FCL. Working off their clever concept, our production design and art team constructed some marvellously grotesque sets and props, while our cinematographer and gaffer ensured things looked cinematically slummy, to contrast with FCL’s famously clean facilities. And behind Jeremy’s gift for directing comic nuance, the final product is one we’ll never want to flush away.

Federated Co-operatives Limited – Maybe Tomorrow

To tell the cross-country story of two estranged dogs and their quest to reunite, Barbershop Films, under the direction of Jeremy Drummond, embarked on our own Western Canadian journey, shooting in old rail cars and gravel roads, mountainous valleys and lush meadows. Not to mention, licensing one of the most recognizable and nostalgic songs in Canadian television history. The national campaign, produced for FCL, remains one of their most wildly popular and successful marketing campaigns in their history.

This brand video for FCL was built on the strength of the extraordinary and rare collaboration between FCL and Barbershop. In FCL, through years of partnerships and conversations, we understand who they are and what they stand for, and thus are able to represent them in their truest form. In producing this ad, Jeremy, our producers, and the FCL marketing team talk thoroughly about ideas and objectives, so the content we produce is perfectly aligned to their vision.

Federated Co-operatives Limited – I’ll Be Home for Christmas

One of the most elaborate productions in Barbershop’s history – including shutting down an entire wing of an airport and a rural highway – director Jeremy Drummond fills these vast spaces with an intimate, emotionally-driven story of a family refusing to be kept apart during Christmas. Also one of the largest marketing productions for FCL at the time, the success of the project solidified FCL’s longterm collaborative partnership with Barbershop, and Jeremy as one of Western Canada’s most formidable directors.
