INDUSTRY DETAILS
A photographer who has had a camera in her hands since she was a teenager and coffee shops in her crosshairs in every city she visits, Violeta Haiduchok took the long way to Saskatchewan, by way of Ukraine, Poland, and France, and brought a perspective that only comes from starting over more than once. Violeta studied tourism for her bachelor’s degree and new media for her master’s, where she shifted from creating content that looked beautiful to understanding why it worked. Before moving to Canada, she worked in Poland with local beauty brands and medical practices, building social media and marketing content with an all-female production team. Earlier still, she spent time in hospitality hotels and restaurants originally thinking she’d manage a hotel somewhere in Europe. That background stuck: understanding what clients need before they ask for it turns out to be just as useful behind a camera as it is behind a front desk.
At Barbershop, Violeta’s role shifts depending on the day. She plans and schedules projects, leads pre-production, directs shots, captures stills, and handles the editing where, as she puts it, the real magic happens, because you can fix in post what you can’t fix in real life. She’s the planner at heart: detail-oriented, constantly studying media campaigns and taking courses, and quietly analyzing why certain content lands and other content doesn’t.
When she’s not on set, Violeta is exploring a new city, hunting for good coffee, trying food she’s never had before, or spending non-negotiable weekend time with her dog a standing appointment that outranks everything else on the calendar.
