Amy Mantyka is a commercial director, specializing in narrative content, working with dozens of clients like SGI, SaskTel and Apple.
One of the things that makes Amy stand out is her keen ability to work with actors. Amy herself is an ACTRA member and has a deep understanding of the process. As a result, she’s able to build trust with actors and evoke deeply emotive performances. Amy also has an extensive background in movement and choreography which has lent well to directing complicated camera moves and choregraphing complex scenarios. In 2022, Amy was awarded Video Director of the Year by BreakOut West, for a five-minute one take called Chew Quietly by Megan Nash. The video followed Megan and she danced through space, intricately choreographed and timed with the always moving camera.
Amy is very focused on evolving as a director and loves to bring a positive vibe to set.
