Marshall Littlefield,

Senior Editor - Regina, SK

Equal parts rhythm obsessive, animation nerd, and the guy the team calls when a script needs to be funnier, Marshall Littlefield has been making things in post-production since a high school Communications Media class convinced him this was the only career that made sense.

Marshall grew up in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and studied Interactive Media Arts at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba, where he produced news packages on broadcast deadlines, worked live production at Brandon Wheat Kings games, and co-produced a docu-series for Bell Media. He did a practicum in Toronto as a writing intern on a CBC Gem web series, then landed back in Saskatchewan, where he worked at Munz Media before joining Tandem X Visuals in October 2020. He’s been at his desk ever since. Five and a half years of editing, animating, and occasionally bossing the team around for the in-house mockumentary skits he wrote and directed, which performed well enough that the Saskatchewan Roughriders came calling for the same format.

As Senior Editor, Marshall takes hours of raw footage and turns it into two minutes of story that makes people feel something. He picks music, designs sound, colour corrects, animates logos and text, and spends more time than anyone realizes sifting through a thousand clips looking for exactly the right frame. His favourite part of the job is the improvisation: when a piece doesn’t land the way anyone planned, and he has to quietly solve the puzzle and present something that splits the difference. He’s also quietly teaching himself 3D animation in Blender, which he describes as “kind of like learning a language in secret.”

When he’s not in the edit suite, Marshall is at home with his wife Nicole and son Cassian, watching movies (alone at the theatre if necessary, he has no qualms), hosting movie nights for friends, camping in the summer, or counting down the years until Cassian is old enough to watch *Star Wars*.
